Project background and funding
From structural change to new growth in aviation.
The closure of the Kaipola paper mill accelerated Jämsä’s need to renew its economic base and create new jobs. Halli’s aviation expertise provides a foundation for developing unmanned aviation, new technologies and business R&D.
The TIKKA project laid the groundwork: its future roadmaps identified aviation as a significant growth opportunity for Jämsä. This work now continues through the TULE development project and investment in a UAS and C-UAS testing environment.
Development and investment progress together. The City of Jämsä’s projects, supported by the Regional Council of Central Finland through AKKE funding, aim to enable testing, new business and companies establishing operations in Halli.
